| RAN BALLARD Creator • Producer • Composer Ran Ballard is a multi-platform creator whose career spans music and film production, live performance, and emerging media technology. Raised inside a multi-generation entertainment family that began working in Hollywood during the studio era of the 1930s, Ballard grew up around the mechanics of production long before pursuing a career of his own. After joining I.A.T.S.E., Ballard began his career in the early 1970s working in the prop department for a large-scale stage production at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He later transitioned into the sound and lighting departments, working directly with performers including Frank Sinatra, Ann-Margret, and Liberace, gaining firsthand experience inside the productions that defined the classic Las Vegas showroom era. After returning to Los Angeles, Ballard continued working across film and television production while simultaneously pursuing music professionally. Through studios including his own Hydra Tech and Media Vortex, Ballard later worked with leading producers and artists while helping introduce emerging digital recording technologies, synthesizer programming, and multimedia production systems during the industry’s transition from analog to digital production. Today Ballard focuses on developing original long-form narrative projects that combine storytelling, music, and production architecture. His current work includes the series Bohemianz, a story set in 1974 Las Vegas and designed for an AI-driven production pipeline. |
